For many years, Dan, my husband, and I drove concrete trucks for a living. I could not vision myself retiring driving a concrete truck. We definitely got a workout. However, we wanted so much more for our family. I had picked up some extra work doing apartment turnovers, which was a very nasty business! That led us to buying a commercial cleaning franchise. We were at the right place at the right time. We really thought that would be our way to have “financial independence”. After working 24/7 most of the time on this choice, we found out the hard way, that was the wrong way. That led me on a journey to find a better way. My journey led me to Melaleuca. I had started not knowing anything about working from home to learning a lot of what to do and not do! There were many times that I invested way more than I received. Dan had given me ultimatums to choose the business or him. I chose both! I just was so determined to win the battle of working from home, and all the benefits that go with it. The statistics are very high for failure… around 95%. We have filed bankruptcy and lost 2 homes since we started. Yes, we have made money and lost money. A lot of the companies that I chose closed down or never got started. I am a very strong woman and determination is everything! My husband, Dan, is totally supportive. He knows what I am capable of doing just about anything and has seen me in action. This has not been an easy journey! But, I was told that all roads lead to Melaleuca, in my case back to Melaleuca.
